BlackBerry Game: Aces Jewel Hunt by Concrete Software 4/5

Concrete Software sent me this game to review on my new BlackBerry Curve (Click for the phone review).

The game itself is a clone of the massively successful Bejeweled game. The aim of the game is to swap different coloured and shaped gems. Once you have 3 or more gems lined up you capture them, which results in points. You need to capture all of "Magic Jewels" to beat each level. The game has several modes: Classic, Timed and Quick Challenge.

Classic Mode -
In this mode you have an unlimited amount of time to pass from level to level.

Timed Mode -
In this mode you have a limited amount of time for each level and have to pass before it runs out!

Quick Challenge Mode -
In this mode you start with a 5 minute timer which just counts down regardless of how many levels you pass. The aim to to complete as many levels as possible before the time runs out!

I am a fan of this type of game and Aces Jewel Hunt does not disappoint. It takes all the great game play from Bejeweled and adds its own twist. You can obtain "Specials" to help you out when you are struggling which is a welcome implementation!

The game has an Easy, Medium and Hard setting which is expected and needed for a game like this. You can check your score against the leader board which shows the best of the day, week and all time.

I haven't been playing this game long at all however I can tell it will be one of the ones I keep and regularly play when I'm bored! For this game the price of $5 is just about acceptable however at $2.99 it is a steal and you should get it while its hot!

I give the game 4 out of 5 stars!
