SHARP Aquos LC 19D1EBK LCD TV Review 3/5
I purchased this TV a couple of years ago for my bedroom. It cost me £190 from a wholesalers called Makro
The design:
The design conforms to the usual TV standard. The only thing that stands out about the design is the glossy black finish all over the unit. It reflects everything in the room!
The Screen:
The screen is a 19 inch widescreen. It can display HD up to 720p and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the quality. I often plug my laptop and Xbox into the unit and have no problems whatsoever with them. I have recently started streaming films at 720p through the HDMI socket from my laptop and again everything seems to be perfect. The only issue I have is that when using HDMI the laptop screen seems to lose about 2mm from each side. Its not really noticeable but I have yet to find a way around it.
The Speakers:
The TV has 2 built in speakers. The quality is OK however I have seen much better quality but also to be fair I have seen much worse too. Its acceptable for watching TV and the odd film however I would recommend some external speakers to get the most out of the TV.
Interfaces:
The TV has Freeview built in and all you need to do is hook up a normal house or portable aerial to the back. It has a feature which lets you select either Freeview or just standard TV which would let you hook up a sky box if you have one in the house.
The TV had every input a home user would need.
It has:
1HDMI socket
1 21 Pin Scart
1 SCART Input
1 S-Video Input
1 Composite Video/Audio Input
2 Audio Lines In
1 Seriel Connector
1 Component Video Input
1 RGB Input
1 VGA Input
----
This TV has never let me down. The menus are easy to navigate and have everything a home user can expect. The only thing I don't like is the fact you can't see what is on another channel before switching to it. As you scroll down on the EPG the TV automatically switches to that channel which is a little frustrating.
Overall I give this TV 3/5 stars. It is a nice compact TV that gives good value for money and with better speakers and a couple more improvements it could be great!
